MISSION & PRACTICES

We are a community of worship and formation on mission with Jesus

All Saints is affiliated with the Vineyard movement, a global association of 2,500 churches around the world, including 500 churches in the United States. For more information, visit Vineyard USA and Vineyard Global.

WORSHIP. We make space (Jn. 4:23-24; Acts 13:2) to encounter God’s active presence together (Eph. 5:18-20; 1 Cor. 14:26; 2 Cor. 3:17-18).

FORMATION. We pursue a life of friendship with God (Jn. 15:14-15; Js. 2:23)and formation in Christ (Gal. 4:19; Col. 1:27-28)through spiritual practices (Acts 2:42).

MISSION. We are equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; Eph. 4:12-13) to be on mission with Jesus (Mt. 10:1, 7-8; Jn. 20:21)wherever we go (Mt. 28:19-20).

PRACTICES

When we’re together, and on our own, we use a core set of practices that shape us into people who can carry out this mission:

Praying Scripture and Arrow Prayers. We not only read the Bible, we pray through passages, and then carry “arrow prayers” from them with us into our days.

Jesus Prayer. “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me.” This biblical prayer that Christians have prayed for centuries shapes our inner beings into continual focus on God’s presence. You may hear us recite or sing this together, and you will hear people using it in their regular days.

Watchfulness. We guard our hearts by noticing our thoughts, rejecting those that are not from God, and turning our hearts and minds continually to the Lord.

Wait on the Lord. When we are together or by ourselves, we learn how to wait for the Lord’s presence, voice, power, aid, and guidance. This is why you will see us linger in worship or in silence during a Sunday service or ministry time.

Hearing God. God’s words bring His power, relationship, and guidance. We learn to discern biblically what He is saying to us personally, and to others through us by the gift of prophecy.

Give and Receive. With God, with one another, and with our neighbors, we both give and receive relationship, care, and affection. During our services, we allow generous time to interact with each other

Prayer for others. As we go through our ordinary days, we notice where God is moving and working, and join Him in it. Often this means we offer to pray for those around us.

Rest. We regularly stop our activity and rest, taking a Sabbath or retreat and demonstrating trust that God will continue His work and oversight of our lives, even when we are not actively working.
