Membership

If you decide to make OLCC your church family, we want to ask you to consider becoming an official member.

The reason for membership is simple and important: it establishes clearly, publicly, decisively, your biblical responsibility to a local church body...and its responsibility to you.

The Bible is clear that as followers of Jesus we are in fact part of His Body (the Church, the community of all believers from all times and all places). We are also to be part of a particular community - a local body - with whom we are to gather regularly, receive encouragement, give service and maintain accountability.

By becoming a member of a local congregation we are resisting the common temptation to "church hop" and in the process to never become a responsible part of any church family...to never really "belong" in a way that allows you to give or receive the many vital "one anothers" commanded by Jesus for His disciples.

So...is OLCC your spiritual home? If so, we encourage you to say it publicly by becoming a member.

The process is simple.

1. Participate in "Lunch with he Pastors" -an informal way to learn about Our Lord's and meet some of the staff. You will have the opportunity to hear about our vision, values, ministries and opportunities to serve.

2. Membership - at a one-time meeting, you will have the opportuntiy to meet with a church elder to share your commitment to Christ and your willingness to live your membership covenant. Membership clarifies our mutual commitment to each other. You will be received as a member in a Sunday morning service.
