The Commons Cafe

WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT OUR NEW COFFEE BAR AND HOPE YOU ARE TOO!

WE FEEL LIKE OUR VISION CAN BE SUMMED UP IN 3 AREAS:

COMMUNITY - QUALITY - MISSION

COMMUNITY
We figure there are few things better than a good conversation over a good cup of coffee. It is our hope that the new cafe area will help facilitate meaningful relationships and community at OLCC. The coffee bar will be available for special events throughout the week as well as our weekly service.
THE COFFEE BAR WILL BE OPEN SUNDAY MORNINGS FROM 9am to 11am.
Get here early to get your coffee and spend time in the cafe!

QUALITY
From the beginning we knew we wanted the best of the best.
So, in the development of our coffee bar we decided to work with two local businesses who are committed to providing the finest quality of coffee products and service.
1) Cafe Evoke (www.cafeevoke.com) - Cafe Evoke is Oklahoma’s premier specialty coffee catering company. They have provided professional consultation, barista training, and equipment.
2) Elemental Roasters (www.elementalcoffeeroasters.com) - Elemental Roasters source, sample, import, roast and deliver the finest coffees available in the world and are located right here in OKC!

MISSION
All proceeds or “profits” are going to be given to OLCC Missions. We have a rich history of supporting mission both locally and abroad and this is one more way that we will continue to do it.

How To Brew Coffee With The New Brewer!

The 5 Laws of Coffee Brewing

1) Thou shalt not put coffee beans in the freezer.  It dries out the oils in the beans and makes Ryan Gikas cry.

2) Thou shalt not turn off the brewer... ever.  It consistently keeps hot water in it's tank so that it's ready to brew at any moment.

3) Thou shalt always clean up your mess and equipment used to brew coffee.  To clean out the coffee dispensers, simply rinse with HOT water and soap.  Run the water out the valve to clean out coffee still in the line.

4) Thou shalt always put unused coffee beans back into their bag at the end of the day or event.  Helps preserve the coffee beans.

5)  Thou shalt enjoy the coffee.  What would be the point if you didn't!
