At Our Lord's we believe the best way to cultivate a culture of men who are "Devoted to Christ, being and making disciples of Jesus" is to do two things:

D-Groups

In our D Groups, men are meeting with 2-4 other men on a consistent basis to "internalize" the values of Jesus. In these meetings, we are (typically) doing three things:
a) UP - reading a chapter from the Journey and asking "What is God saying TO YOU through this?"
b) IN - talking about our relationships with wives, children, co-workers, friends, etc. and encouraging one another to "love well."
c) OUT - discussing "our worlds" and who God is calling us to reach with His love and power.

HAZAK Men's Retreat

"HAZAK"
Hebrew word for “Be strong”

Over and over in the Scripture, God commands men to “HAZAK! … Be strong!”
To Joshua, He says, “Be strong and very courageous …”
To Solomon He says, “Be strong … and show yourself a man.”
In the New Testament He says, “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power…”

To us, God’s call of “Hazak” is not to become “macho” or consumed with a passion for our own toughness. But it is a call for men to rise up in obedience to Jesus when it’s not popular. It is a call for men to courageously resist the devil in their own hearts and homes. It is a call for men to lead out even when we’re filled with fear and uncertainty. It is a call to speak words of life and peace into the chaos of our world.

HAZAK … This is undoubtedly the call of God to men of God today.
