Beginning with God. So...how do I begin to experience God and His good work in my life? One thing that God wants us to know is that He wants all of us to experience His love and forgiveness both now and forever.
He created, loves and sent His son to die for all of us. Further, He wants us to know that He has done all that needs to be done so that every one of us can know Him, have peace with Him, and live the life He dreamed for us when He made us. When Jesus died on the cross, He died to pay the penalty for the sins of us all so that by faith every one of us can be forgiven and have peace with God.
The one thing God asks of us is that we let Him be God in our life...that we agree to turn from the things we know are wrong and displeasing to Him and agree to listen-trust-follow Him for the rest of our lifes. We don't have to fix everything that needs changing and we don't have to follow perfectly. None of us will ever be able to do that. We only need to be willing to listen to His Word and His Spirit and to try to trust and obey. He promises to give us the ability to understand and the power to obey through the work of His Holy Spirit, who comes to live inside us.
This decision to trust God enough to listen, trust and follow Him is what the Bible calls "faith". This is what it means to "believe in" God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is a decision you can make right now and begin your life with the God who made you and loves you.
