Discipleship Groups OR "D-Groups"
D-Groups are groups of 2-6 men or women committed to growing in relationship with God through the Word, prayer and honesty. They typically meet weekly and last 1-1.5 hours. Many of our Community Groups have D-Groups "embedded" in them.
What happens?
UP - relationship with God - D-Groups read through a chapter of the Bible asking the question, "What is God saying to me through this?" The group will "journal" and discuss what they're hearing from God.
IN - relationships with other believers - D-Groups spend time discussing life questions regarding how we are "putting into practice" the values of Jesus when it comes to money, time, forgiveness, marriage, friendships, etc.
OUT - relationships with those who need Jesus - D-Groups encourage each other to engage the world around us with God's love through praying for people, sharing our faith, serving the poor or otherwise.
We are on a journey together following Jesus. He is calling to each of us, "Come follow me". D-Groups are the support we need to get started and keep going.
